About RKJ Adams

'A dream doesn't become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.'

Colin Powell

R.K.J. Adams was born in Staffordshire in the early 1960s, and spent many years in the Midlands before relocating to the northern Highlands in 2011. She now shares her home with her long-suffering husband, Mr Adams, and their lively menagerie of four rescue dogs, each as quirky as their owners.

Although her passion for writing began in childhood, R.K.J. Adams spent much of her life immersed in education, first as a teacher and then as a headteacher. Her dream of becoming an author had to wait while she devoted herself to her career. In 2019, after a successful but demanding career in primary education, she decided to retire early to focus on her health and recovery.

In October 2021, a chance encounter with a podcast reignited her desire to write. Wasn't Me, Miss! was published in July 2022. Since then, her writing career has flourished, and she has published two anthologies of poetry for adults and three children's picture books.

In addition to her writing, R.K.J. Adams is an avid amateur photographer. Living in the Highlands offers her endless opportunities to capture the stunning beauty of nature, which she eagerly documents through her lens.
